SUPPORT THE LIBRARY - BUY A BOOK!

Did you know that Friends groups at each Fairfax County Public Library branch sponsor used book sales to raise money for the library? Proceeds from book sales support fun and educational programs for children and adults at branches as well as system-wide events such as the popular Summer Reading Program. Some groups have supported the purchase of ebooks, magazine subscriptions and much more. You can help support the library by browsing the used book sale at your local branch or donating your excess books and DVDs. Friends groups have different criteria for book donations.

Sherwood Regional Library welcomes your donations of:

• Current and high-interest non-fiction
• Hardcover fiction in excellent condition
• New and gently used children’s books.

For reasons of health and space, WE CANNOT ACCEPT:

• Musty, mildewed, torn or moisture-damaged books
• Textbooks older than 3 years
• Computer/business/finance books older than 2 years
• Reader’s Digest Condensed Books
• Medical and/or legal books
• Incomplete encyclopedia sets or other incomplete sets
• Magazines
• Phonograph records and/or cassette tapes
• Books previously owned by libraries

Your gift of books in excellent condition will be considered for addition to our collection. Those not added are given to the Friends of the Sherwood Regional Library for their ongoing book sale.

Book donations should be taken to the side door and given to a volunteer or staff member. ITEMS LEFT OUTSIDE WILL BE DISCARDED.

Hours:
Monday and Wednesday: 1pm to 9pm
Tuesday: 10am to 9pm
Thursday and Friday: 10am to 6pm
Saturday: 10am to 5pm
Sunday: no donations accepted.

One of his best known books described the murder of a police officer in a field and the long courtroom drama that followed. It won the Edgar Allan Poe Award for nonfiction in 1974. In 2003 he wrote a book about a serial arsonist.
